The Gothic Idea

Today, being gothic means to dress in dark colors, wear lots of eyeliner, and maybe have gages. That's just your stereotypical Gothic person. But what is seldom know to many of our worlds youth, is the origin of the idea of being 'Gothic'. My understanding of it always came from the architectural stand point. The large dark buildings with the pointy towers, which give off a sort of creepy vibe, this is what I think about. And our modern 'Gothic' people are following that trend by portraying themselves as creepy figures. So I guess you could say they are sort of keeping the Gothic era  alive in their own way.
